I'd like to say it was hard work, but I'd be lying. It was fun and I definitely learned a lot of what I can and cannot do. So I'm happy. And this is one of my favorite panels in the GN. Still undecided on what I should do. If I make a tote, then it might get ruined, but I'd like to rock the shit out of it. So I might make it, and eventually cut it and hang it on my wall. Yes, I like it that much. (Or I can stop being a chicken and do what I really wanted: a big mural in my bedroom. What do you mean I'm crazy?)

Anyways....

The materials I used:

The original panel, again:

How it turned out (I don't know why I can't take a straight picture. It's not that crooked)

Some details:

(Needs some touch-ups, I know!)

May I just say, once more, that I ADORE this color palette? I just do- And also, Rorschach. Red. He would not approve. xD

Thank you! <3

I'm trying not to over analyze it and start hating it, like with everything I make. lol

It looks great! But I know how it is to find fault in your own work. I usually hire a friend to sneak in and steal the work in question so I can't look at it anymore. There's a saying somewhere that art is never finished, just taken away (was it Picasso?) and for me at least it's true. You don't have to worry about it with this one though. I say go for the mural.

That saying is so true. Part of why I'm not sure I would like to hang this in my room is because I would grow to hate it, finding flaws. And "wearable art" is kind of cool- I especially like to wear Watchmen related stuff ( partly hoping one day someone will notice and I'll find another local fan) xD

I think some day, not too far in the future, I'll try my hand at the mural. It would certainly be a lot of fun to make.

Oh, and thanks! :)

:) Thanks.

And yes, in hindsight, I could have ended up with a huge mess on my hands xD

I love this! It's really gorgeous. Don't get hung up on the minute details, because the whole thing is beautiful. Amazingly done.

Don't get hung up on the minute details

Well, it wouldn't feel like me if I didn't lol I'm kidding, I had no expectations for this so I'm just very excited it looks this good. xD

That's so cool! I love the shading and the details of the bricks, it really looks just like the comic. :)

As I said on Twitter, this is epic and so are you <3

Seriously though, it's great. The underlying texture of the fabric makes it even better.

Aww thank you! <3

I agree, the texture of the fabric makes it look so amazing. :)

This is very, very impressive. D'you know, I think I might even like it more than the original (please don't stone this unbeliever!) - there's just something about your fabric textures that seems to make the whole thing a lot more gritty. Really wonderful work! :)

Oh Gosh, thanks! :) That's an awesome compliment xD

I also think the texture of the fabric really brings out the amazing atmosphere the original artwork has. I'm glad I chose this panel :)

Thank you! :)

I so want to hang it, now I wish it were bigger ;-)

And yes, you have to! I've never really painted before- when I made this, I was in a very bad mood, and it was incredibly soothing. I'm definitely going to use it as stress release therapy from now on xD
