wtf brain?

So I'm reading through the LJ and of course it's crawling with Start Trek and Watchmen because... well, why not? As always, my brain is set to instant Watchmen thinking (especially after my last post). Meanwhile, Matrix: Revolutions is on in the background.

As I'm getting ready for bed, somehow, those two mixed and the phrase Watchmen: Revolutions popped into my head. Why!? Now I'm afraid to go to sleep because of the nightmares it could bring. DX Oh, the humanity!

yikes

I know I promised a while ago I wouldn't read any more reviews about Watchmen, people don't get it blah blah. But I blame Fandom Wank for this. There I was reading the hilarious anon girlfriend bashing by the SPN fans and learning about whatever Russet Noon is when this hit me in the face. X(  [If the name Debbie Schlussel rings a bell, do not click! DO NOT! Also, her site may have crashed my browser. Twice.] Talk about hating something with a passion! I could say hateful things about stuff I don't understand too, and frankly, even thought Watchmen WAS NOT targeted at children, I've seen way worse. Mindless crap custom made for children that I wish could be banished from the face of the Earth... I can list a few.

Now, I have no idea what is up with conservatives and liberals and what have you- I'm thinking either everyone in my country is depraved (could be), or we need more lulzy political parties. All everyone cares about is reducing poverty and increasing security, and nobody gives a damn about what's showing in the movie theaters. WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?!?

What good came out of this? I just went through that woman's reviews and I realized that what she hates I love (for the most part) so now I can make a list of what I want to watch and what I don't want to watch. See? There is a silver lining. I also felt like giving everyone involved with Watchmen (movie and comic) and all the (not crazy) fans a big hug. Even Alan Moore? ... sure. But let's start with JEH and see where it goes from there. XP

I posted this as a comment in [livejournal.com profile] watchdom and it made me remember how much I like this song. XD

It always makes me think of Watchmen when I listen to it, mainly because I had a Watchmen related dream and this song was in it. Hehe, it was a weird dream, but kinda cool. Anyway, it's in Spanish so I never push it but screw it.

So, after I got done with work today I was treating myself to a little tour of the Boys folder and I found that fantastic picture of the cast from Watchmen... you know the one ;) So I made a desktop wallpaper. I made one for my resolution (1280x768) and then one for 1024x768 to share. Enjoy!

Well, I've been really coveting those Rum Runner shirts, and I planned to make myself one but since I already had everything I needed to make a tote... I ended up with a Rum Runner tote XD I love it!

I was lucky enough to get my sewing machine working properly today- she can be such a bitch sometimes. Sure, the thread got cut a couple of times but all in all, it was good. I admit I could have put a little more effort on perfecting the print, but I was anxious to get it done and to not have the kitty jump on it before it was dry.

Just a regular tote.

And the purple lining gives it a nice touch. XD I wish it was pinstriped.

Sorry for those who already saw it on Twitter. :)

puina: (think often)
Wow, this is has to be the first time I manage to get a project this size done in 4 days :P And without neglecting work! Sure, I basically didn't sleep one night but it wasn't on purpose, I just couldn't. Anyway, it all went well in the end.

JackieEarleHaleyFans.com is up and running. I'm excited XD [livejournal.com profile] wptjeh  will still be maintained and new posts added, because we know it's more convenient for some people to have it on their Friends list. So, that's what I've been up to (that and I'm making Joomla my bitch friend) And [livejournal.com profile] youquit , you know I love you more than I should XD lol Thanks for being so awesome.

Well, I guess I'll go back to my normal routine now, less work to do for the site now that it's set up.

I wonder what I've missed- apart from the season finale of House and Lost. I should really catch up with that, but I'm too lazy!

Oh, and I feel the need to post this macro that [personal profile] miss_bushido  passed me along on Twitter because I laughed so hard my side started hurting. Adrian is fierce.

So I slept 4 and a half hours and now I'm up and feeling ok. But I shouldn't, so I'm guessing some time today I will crash and burn badly, but luckily I will be done with work. I don't mind not sleeping, sometimes I really wish I didn't have to, but it's not nice having to guess if you aren't sleeping because you just aren't tired, or because you are too messed up to relax. We'll find out soon.

Last night I found this:

It's a video, don't be shy )

Apparently someone really wanted to play Freddy and put this together to convince someone that he should get casted. Obviously he didn't- but don't worry buddy, you had no chance against JEH because he is just that awesome.

What I really like about this, though, is that Freddy is actually on fire! I hope the guys at Platinum Dunes don't get any ideas from this. I mean, sure, Rorschach can go around dispensing free fire* at his own discretion, but I don't think Freddy could pull it off so well.

[livejournal.com profile] youquit  and I are totally cooking something really cool. I'm so excited. XD

*for those of you haven't seen this yet, you can thank me later.

Now that I've been buckling up with work (for real) I'm amassing a very small fortune, which is fantastic because this is a crappy month, financially speaking.

Also, since I'm already on the computer, I've learned to love Twitter- it's a godsend if you work from home, you can talk with a whole bunch of people and not have a mess of annoying IM windows popping up. The people are cool too :D

Well, I don't know if I'll be working on the mood theme tonight, since I'm going to see Watchmen (this time I really think it's the last time) and we all know that's a three hour deal. A sexy, bad-ass three hour deal.

Why do I even read movie reviews? They piss me off! People are idiots.

Luckily, there don't seem to be that many around me today.

I love the city when it's empty )
puina: (Raaarl)
"The plot was so complicated I couldn't follow it"

"I didn't like it because I was expecting something completely different."

"I like movies about Mars, so i can't say anything bad about this one."

People kept giggling during Dr Manhattan's scenes. Seriously, it's not even that big, why are you focusing on the blue penis??

Rorschach* gets all the laughs. (Of course)

Two girls left during the prison scene where they cut that guy's arms off, followed by their dates. I would have let them leave.

People complain about some blood and awkwardly bent limbs. Have they not seen Hostel and Saw (1, 2, 3... infinity)? I haven't and I didn't think it was that gory.

It's actually kind of funny when you get to the Comedian's flashbacks (the rape scene, shooting the pregnant chick) everyone gets so serious and tense. You did not see that coming, did ya?

Best part of the movie. )

Also: Mothman, nice.

Rorschach told me I was a pervert. Nice game, though.

So I did finally get to see Watchmen on the big screen (I know you were worried, but I'm ok now) and I enjoyed it so much. I saw it Friday night and Saturday afternoon, and I'm thinking of seeing it yet again during the week. I noticed so many cool details (that I could not appreciate in the less legal and more shady version I had been able to acquire. shhhhhhhh) I had already noticed the 300 on the door (nice one, Zach) but I hadn't seen Laurie's picture framed at The Comedian's apartment, or his Silk Specter pinup engraved Zippo lighter. And Jackie Earle Haley on such big dimensions is defintiely not good for my health, but who cares?

I have so much to do this week, I'm reluctant to start. Time sensitive errands that must get done before Wednesday and all this pressure is making me very, very lazy. I never know when I'm going to perform well under pressure. Sometimes I'm seriously awesome and get everything done that needed to get done and then some, other times I freak out and hide under a rock. I think I do better when the pressure is really on, if it's medium then I start procrastinating.

Damn! It's midnight already, I should get some sleep or whatever.

My copy of Watchmen has arrived! Yaaay! And it was by far the fastest international delivery ever! 8 days. It usually takes a month!
TPB because I can't afford the fancy edition AND international shipping )

And just as I was finishing my totebag )

It's just a practice one, since I'm learning how to use my great aunt's ancient sewing machine. You know, powered by human. It's kind of a bitch, likes to cut the thread a lot, and there's no controlling which direction it goes, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. :D They're for my (and my friend's) store, but we're not going to use the Rorschach print, that's just for me because it's the first one I've ever made and the stitching's a little messy.

I was in a bus crash yesterday! Actually, the bus I was riding on rammed into some poor girl's car; the driver was apparently in a hurry and couldn't stop in time for the street light change. It's a surprise they don't crash more often, though, considering how they drive like maniacs.

Someone requested them in [livejournal.com profile] elevator_shaft so I had a go at it and failed miserably but whatever..

Here they are... )

That was one crappy episode of House! I mean, after the sexyness that was Locked In with all those close up shots of Hugh's face and arms... oh the arms! I know Kal Penn wanted to leave and all, but that was seriously awful. ;_;
puina: (Default)
I'm glad to see somebody finally pointed it out, since it was so obvious!

Sally Jupiter's retirement party scene in the opening credits for Watchmen was included in the Suddenly Last Supper post at Popped Culture. (The Comedian is Judas... I wonder why?)

My right knee has been hurting all day and I have no idea why. This sucks! It felt really sore last night and I couldn't sleep at all, I just kept tossing and turning trying to get comfortable. Gah! Stupid knee.

I'm running out of ways to procrastinate... I might have to do some actual work today. :(

Gifs!

YOu know how Jakie Earle Haley is so freaking adorable? And how every interview he and Jeffrey Dean Morgan gave is totally hilarious? Well, I was watching this interview of them today and I noticed the cutest thing.

Interviewer: What was it like seeing the entire cast together in costumes for the first time?
JEH: Oh, it was cool as beans-
JDM: *chuckles*cool as beans*cuckles*

What's that you say? You would like to see it captured in gif format? )

puina: (Default)
Just take a look at all the people who have already seen Wacthmen before me. Gahhhhhhhhhhhh! I want to see it (on the big screen ;) )!

I had to work last night, filming a wedding. At least they fed us, and I had some serious eye candy to oggle at which made the night go faster than I expected. We got home early, too. That'll teach them to have a party on a Friday, before a holiday week; people leave early so they can go on vacation earlier the day after. Bless them.

Anyway, my Macros folder is growing exponentially, although I have some gifs in there too (mostly JEH, he's so adorable!) so I might upload them all to Photobucket, before I get another cleaning mood and erase them all to hell. So here, a token of my appreciation.

SQUEE )

Alright, that's it for the day.

I wasn’t too happy with the unfinished version I posted yesterday, so I gave him some finishing touches. I also added a little before and after and explanation. Hope you enjoy!

That's when Watchmen opens at my local movie theatres. 15 more days!! Those bitches! So, until then, I need to vent.

Today I bring you mini Rorschach. My computer crashed hard yesterday and I was left to my own devices, so I got crafty.
